False teaching endangers the spiritual health of God's people. The devil is relentless in attacking the word of God because of its significance and use in God's ongoing work of building His church. Corporately and individually the word of God is the means by which, and through which, the Spirit of God works to save, build, and transform those who become God's people in God's church. The sound, healthy teaching of God's word will serve to nourish and fortify the spiritual health of the believer. Any mix of error with the truth of God's word makes that teaching unhealthy and dangerous to the spiritual well-being of the believer. For the unbeliever making the message more appealing or acceptable by the mixing in, compromising, or distorting in any the truth leaves them with the fatal disease of sin. The healthy teaching of the word of God will lead to godliness in the lives of men and women, old and young alike to which the scriptures speak.
