As believers live in the present while growing and maturing in their faith they bring to the Body of Christ great diversity. Matters of preference, past experiences, personality will continue to allow for differences that collectively make the local church complete. These differences can become a concern when opinions and personal practices become authoritative when enforced as if they were biblical principles and precepts. Personal matters of food, dress, styles, customs and traditions that are not in some way contrary to God's word make for diversity in the unity of the Body around the common faith in Jesus Christ, the Head of the Church. In these personal matters God does not require nor intend everyone to look alike, sound alike, eat alike, and like the same things so then believers should accept one another as God has. The Scriptures stand firm and unchanging as the measure of what is right and what is not for the believers life and conduct.-A brief discussion follows this message concerning altars and the offering of sacrifices in Israel during the Old Testament times.
