The 2008 Brownlow medallist and former No. 1 overall pick Adam Cooney joins Shane Crawford and Nick Quinn on another bumper edition of the Inside 50 podcast. Cooney talks about growing up in South Australia and the culture shock of moving to Melbourne as an AFL player, which included training without a pair of runners for his first three weeks of training with the Western Bulldogs. From the three consecutive preliminary finals of Rodney Eade’s time as coach to the tumultuous end of his Bulldogs career under Brendan McCartney, Cooney opens up on the ups and downs of his 250-game career. Including the “bittersweet” experience of watching the Bulldogs win the 2016 flag from afar. Also, Cooney speaks about how an article about Kobe Bryant led to a late career renaissance with the Essendon Bombers. Despite a lack of success at Windy Hill, Cooney says he found a home.
