Florida State began the 2007 season 2-1 and faced off with No. 22 Alabama for a week 4 showdown in Jacksonville.

Both defenses held strong in the first half as the game remained scoreless through the first half. But early in the 3rd quarter, Xavier Lee found De'Cody Fagg to put FSU on the board first, and FSU would lead 7-0 heading into the 4th quarter.

In the final period, the Seminoles controlled at 21-7 advantage, but the Crimson Tide found the end zone with just 1:06 remaining to make it a one-touchdown ball game. However, on the ensuing onside kick, the ball was illegally touched by Alabama and FSU would hold on for the 21-14 win.
