No. 4 FSU opened the 2016 season in Orlando against 11th ranked Ole Miss on September 5th, 2016. The Rebels jumped out to a 28-13 halftime lead, but the second half belonged to the 'Noles.
Florida State outscored Ole Miss 23-0 in the third quarter and held off the Rebels to win 45-34. Redshirt freshman QB Deondre Francois threw for 419 yards and 2 scores while Davlin Cook rushed for 91 yards in the season-opening win.
