61, Stories That Build Honor (Gabriela Phillips with Gerald Whitehouse) - a podcast by GC IWM
from 2020-02-19T11:00
Many missionaries live and serve within cultures where honor and shame values shape relationships, communication patterns and worldview. Understanding the specifics of a culture where a person’s reputation is at the center of his or her self-worth will impact your approach to presenting the Biblical truth.
In today’s episode, Gabriela Philips and Dr. Gerald Whitehouse talk about how to tell stories that honor people and illustrate how God wants to restore honor. Dr. Whitehouse tells a story of the prodigal son from an honor and shame perspective and reveals details of the story that you have probably never thought about.
Dr. Whitehouse served as GC AMR Director and has experience in engaging with people from different cultures.
