We see this with all the prophets of old, with all 11 disciples, with Paul and I, also, experienced this. We have many friends when we just attend church and be good little boys and girls, doing our religious works, but let us genuinely come to Jesus Christ and begin learning and listening for and to his voice and we will be ignored, pushed aside.
