In this episode I talked with a new friend, Charley Ann, who is recovering from a very restrictive eating disorder. However, in this episode explains that her mental health will not define her (I love that). A-Typical Anorexia is classified as someone who has a restrictive diet but is not considered a ‘unhealthy weight’ because ED is based off the BMI scale. Eating disorders affect over 30 million people in the US and has the highest mortality rate of any mental illness. It should be taken seriously and if you feel that you have an eating disorder or you know someone that might you should talk to someone that you trust. Charley is very open and vulnerable with us about her journey and how far she has come and I'm so happy people get to hear her story, whether you can relate personally or know someone who could. Although she is on the road to recovery she shares with us that shes passionate about art as well and enjoys making prints, bags, hair-ties, and more! Since it is Mental Health Awareness Month his Charley is donating a portion of all her art proceeds will go to "NEDA: National Eating Disorder Association" which provides information about ED and helps tackle it as well.

** I could not link Charley's art page, however her username is "Charleyanann" on instagram. Please go take a look at her amazing art and follow her!
