Franken-God - a podcast by Jacobs Well - Eau Claire, WI

In this new series we will consider the attributes of God. We will discuss the need to worship God as He reveals himself. Anytime we pick and choose what aspects of God we want to embrace while ignoring or even rejecting others, we create God in our own image and ultimately start to worship something that is not the true God. In doing so we become idolaters. Not only is a god of our own design not helpful but these gods can become dangerous. Any god but the true God is a taker and cruel. We will consider how God reveals himself in the scriptures through those verses that tell us "God is…" We will begin with the understanding that God is, by definition, beyond our understanding, experience or capacity to fully understand. JW Kids will be tracking with this series also, so this will be an opportunity for families to connect over the next few weeks. And through the daily devotionals we will be showing how the Names of God reveal who God is. This is ultimately a series on worship-- Our transcendent God is worthy of our best response through worship. The big take away from this series? --We are to align our nature and character with the nature and character of God.
