"Theoretically you would not want to give the vaccine within two weeks of having an injection of a biologic, but that's more of a theoretical risk. I think the risk of getting COVID is far greater."
Dr Patrick Fleming joins Kirk to discuss the very topical article he co-authored from the Nov/Dec 2020 issue of the Journal of Cutaneous Medicine and Surgery: "Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 and the Use of Biologics in Patients With Psoriasis."
Dr. Fleming is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Toronto and a Dermatologist at the Lynde Institute of Dermatology. During the pandemic he has also been working at the COVID Centre at Women's College Hospital in Toronto.
