Co-Founder & Executive Director of Appetite For Change.
Michelle is an experienced cook with over 15 years under her belt in the kitchen at home, professionally and teaching cooking classes to youth and adults. She received her B.A. in Biothics from the University of Pennsylvania and a J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School. After practicing law as a Public Defender for 4 years in Miami-Dade County, Michelle went to work for James Beard Award winning Chef Michelle Bernstein, as a line and prep cook and assistant pastry chef. In 2010 she and her family moved back to her home-town of Minneapolis. Michelle’s father’s family is from the Northside and she has a passion for building racial and social equity in this community.
Appetite For Change uses food as a tool building health, wealth, and social change in North Minneapolis. AFC is a community-led organization that strengthens families, creates economic prosperity, and encourages healthy living.
