#2 CODA with Amisha - a podcast by Joe

In this episode of HOLD MY DVD, we're talking about CODA (2021). I'm joined by Amisha (@madebyamisha), who is an artist, writer, traveler, and incredible human being. 

CODA (Children of Deaf Adults) is a wonderful story about a girl and her family where she is the only hearing member, who attempts to help her family's struggling fishing business while pursuing her own aspirations of being a singer. The movie uses deaf actors to play the deaf characters, and communicate using American Sign Language.

CODA won numerous awards, including the three nominations it received at the 94th Academy Awards – Best Picture, Best Supporting Actor for Kotsur, and Best Adapted Screenplay – becoming the first film both distributed by a streaming service to win Best Picture.
