We’re talking today about cultural diversity. About shifting perspective and harnessing the potential for peace. About appreciating the differences between human beings and giving each person respect and consideration.
To kick off this important topic, Sue chats with JCI Canada’s 2019 Peace is Possible director, Marc-Kenzy Deterriere from JCI Montreal. He shares with us, in French, his passion for the Peace is Possible movement and what it means to him. We also have Bettyna Belizaire from JCI Ottawa in that interview, to provide some translation for our English speaking listeners.
Stay tuned for the second half of the episode, where Sue discusses cultural diversity with Warren Reid from the Farmville Jaycees in Virginia state. They dive a bit deeper into cultural diversity, and also talk about a highly emotional incident that took place this past January in Washington DC.
How can we, as Canadians, relate to those around us so that our differences compliment each other? How can we move beyond the uncomfortable and exist in a place where diversity inspires positive change?
