Sculpture and installation artist Dan Herschlein’s practice renders the interior and exterior of domestic spaces with great detail in accordance with a supernatural logic. By appropriating tropes from horror cinema and gothic fiction, Herschlein explores aspects of narrative identity as an efficient tool for self-deception, and the lengths an individual may unconsciously go to in order to craft and mediate their own narrative.  Herschlein and Jasmin Tsou discuss narrative identity and his solo exhibition on view from September 2 - October 17, 2020 at JTT.
