JUMP Music Initiative Podcast EP5 2020 with Lisa Jacobs

Lisa Jacobs

Multi-instrumentalist, Lisa Jacobs, declares the bass guitar her most beloved.  Playing her first blues festival at age 12, she has gone on to write, record, music direct and preform with a variety artists, including platinum recording pop artist Jocelyn Alice, Marshall (Walk Off The Earth), Juno winner Paul Reddick, Michael Bernard Fitzgerald, Wide Mouth Mason, Suzie Vinnick, Amy Bishop and Jann Arden (a personal highlight).

In addition to working as a session musician, Lisa released an EP with her original project - jocelyn & lisa- in 2012.  A song from that project - “Bound to You” went gold after being re-released by Jocelyn Alice in 2018.

Most recently, Lisa toured North America for 6 months with “We We Rock You”, a musical based on Queen’s music.  A major venue highlight was playing the theatre in Madison Square Gardens.

In addition to preforming, Lisa has a degree in music therapy.  As a therapist she’s had the opportunity to create music with people of varied abilities in many different settings including schools, hospitals and even a maximum security prison.
