The need for healthy homes has hardly ever been more apparent than during the present global condition. The current efforts to reduce the negative impacts of buildings are inadequate. Therefore, we need to start rethinking the way we design our built environment. With a fascination for the principles of biophilic design, GG-loop has developed the concept of Mitosis, a holistic, regenerative, collective ecosystem. The name refers to the biological process of a single cell dividing itself into two identical daughter cells. It represents the modularity and the long-term adaptation of the system and serves as a metaphor for a flexible co-living organism. In this structure each residential unit coexists in symbiosis with all the others.
In today's podcast episode we talk to Giacomo Garziano from GG-loop about the balancing act of building for the client and the environment at the same time, and are excited to learn more about the concept of Biophilic Design.
