JUR-ED is a podcast of the Jur-Ed Foundation, put out on a monthly basis. The aim is to promote education of legal rights and the practice of law, and this is done by looking at systems, structures, and social relations.

Today's show will focus on the protection of peoples' rights as governments explore extreme actions in response to COVID-19. As this crisis continues to unfold, we must ensure that the actions taken to address it do not worsen the barriers our most marginalized community members face in upholding their rights. We will consider some of the challenges currently facing our clients, solutions being crafted, and opportunities for future advocacy. Our speakers include: Stephanie Okola, Family and Child Protection Lawyer and Mediator; Jillian Rogin, Lawyer & Professor; and, Mac Scott, Immigration Consultant/Activist. You will also hear from Sheru Abdulhusein and Benjamin Hognetsad from the Law Union of Ontario, organizers of this event.
