In the story of Nehemiah, at some point during their moving forward in restoration, they realized that those with money and power were treating the poor and powerless unfairly. Justice is an important part of God's character and realizing this, Nehemiah stopped the restoration to address the situation. The principle for us is that no matter how important"doing God's work"seems to us, people come first. Following God means that people are more important than projects.
