In-Depth News Analysis: In the last week South Korea has seen a record number of daily new COVID-19 cases and a record number of related deaths, and the surge shows no sign of slowing down. Of particular concern is the fact that hospital beds for the critically ill are running out fast. In addition, a new variant has emerged overseas, Omicron, that has left experts worried. To get an overview of the situation, Dr. Bryan Kim, an epidemiologist from the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency joins us on the line.
