News Briefing: Health authorities reported more than seven-thousand new COVID-19 cases for the second straight day on Thursday, with the number of critically ill patients hitting a new high. Government experts also projected the daily infection count could soar to up to 12-thousand during the winter holiday season. The main opposition People Power Party launched their election campaign committee on Monday, in a dramatic turnaround after their presidential candidate Yoon Seok-youl mended fences with key party figures last week.
