Liberation (Poem) - a podcast by Young Toledo

Liberation

Liberation, in the truest sense of the word.

A freeing fluttering feeling like the first flight of a bird.

It's absurd that for a time I've been living so constrained,

Confined to the confines of my very own brain.

I was blind to see the tethers chaining me to a singular fixed point in time.

Spinning and spinning and spinning my gears, living my life in a circle instead of a line.

It's a clarity.

Something that is often a rarity in this time and space of being broke, but on Twitter being woke.

There is no going back.

Why would there be?

Why wouldn't I want to see what lies ahead and instead be trapped in the past?

For, the past was built to build and propel me forward,

So I don't fall wayward into the old ways of my old days when the sun rays blinded me from my current condition.

Not giving me the proper ignition needed to spur my mission.

It's a decision to discover what that mission even is.

Or ever was.

Or ever will be.

It's a journey to find me.
