For our 50th episode we’re taking it back to the 1950’s. It was New Years Eve day of 1957, when Orville Gibson, a dairy farmer in the small town of Newbury, Vermont went out to milk his cows. He was never seen alive again. In what was known as "The Spilled Milk Murder," by the press of the late 1950's, Orville Gibson’s disappearance remains a mystery to this day that made global headlines. Now, more than over half a century later, there are still questions about that day. This story was magnified when LIFE Magazine covered the case twice, Southern writers called the case "A Northern Lynching", several writers used the details of this case as a their setting, and a song even came about from it!
