In 2010 the network called PANGeA was established - and it since then aims to support academic research in Africa, particularly in the area of arts, humanities and social sciences. The Graduate School of Arts and Sciences at the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa, of which Dr Cindy Steenekamp is the director, is part of this network. Within the series "Zu Gast bei L.I.S.A." we spoke to the political scientist, asking her questions about the PANGeA-Network, African research as well as the Lisa Maskell Fellowship programme, which was initiated in 2014 and supports African scholars pursuing their PhD at Stellenbosch University and other academic institutions such as the Graduate School of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at the Makerere University in Kampala, Uganda.
