- Acts 1:8 (NKJV) - "But you shall receive power when the HS has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria and to end of earth”

- II Timothy 3:5 (NIV) - "having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them."

- Acts 2:1-3 NKJV - “When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all w/one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them”

Message Points

Truth 1: Spirit power is real and every Christian needs it.

Truth 2: The power of the Spirit comes from and is regulated by the person of the Spirit.

Truth 3: Spiritual power must be activated by you.

The Holy Spirit often does His most transformative work through a process, and in secret. And, if you focus on the person of the Holy Spirit, He'll make sure that the "pop" is appropriate to the need and the context.

Christians get into error when they...

1...become more excited over the demonstration of the Holy Spirit's power than the intimacy of the Holy Spirit's presence.

2...confuse the power of the Holy Spirit with the pop of pickle jar (the reaction of people).
