The brevity and familiarity might lead us to think of the Lord’s Prayer as simple. But upon closer inspection, it is anything but simple. It is quite possibly the most powerful prayer we have ever prayed.

As we saw last week, praying “Our Father,” has a depth and meaning to it that might have caught us by surprise. The part of the prayer about God’s Kingdom coming and God’s will being done is no less surprising. In fact, it just might challenge us to rethink everything we think we know about heaven, earth, and the storyline of the Bible itself.
