On LGHL’s Outside the Shoe podcast, we talk all things Ohio State athletics that happen outside the confines of the Horseshoe.
In today’s episode, Meredith highlights the start of the Ohio State wrestling season -- the 100th season in program history -- including the Buckeyes’ season opener in the Michigan State Open in East Lansing. Ohio State entered the season ranked third nationally behind perennial powers Penn State and Iowa. She also discusses Big Ten wrestling as a whole, including the leaders who have set the conference apart since the 1970s.
Ohio State has a lot to look forward to this year, including national TV contracts and a new state-of-the-art wrestling home, that continue to elevate a program which has finished in the top-three nationally each of the past five seasons.
The Buckeyes finished last season as NCAA runners-up. Despite losing several key starters, Ohio State is bringing on the nation’s top recruiting class and is setting itself up for success for years to come under head coach Tom Ryan.
