Land-Grant Holy Land's newest podcast series, Stick to Sports, will be unlike any podcast you've heard within the Ohio State beat. Your hosts, Tia Johnston and Matt Tamanini, will (of course) talk Ohio State football, but the primary focus of the show will be on what's going on around the periphery, such as weird/funny happenings in college football and the sports world at large, as well as other things that keep us interested in between games, whether that's pop culture, social media trends-- you name it.
In this week's episode, Matt and Tia discuss their thoughts on Ohio State's opener against Nebraska, specifically announcers Joel Klatt and Gus Johnson and their questionable takes. They then get into Haskell Garrett and his remarkable two-month journey, their differing views on wearing fan-gear after a bad loss and Matt's Hallmark movie conflict. They end the show with their what-to-watch recommendations, which leads to a rather long discussion of whether or not they agree with the notion that Paul Hollywood represents Ohio State fans, and whether or not it's forgivable that Tia has not seen a single episode of Saved by the Bell.
