Why Study Ezekiel?

  • Romans 15:4, For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope.

  • Consider
    • The people did not want to listen (Ezek. 2:4-7)

    • The people did not have an accurate understanding of themselves nor their relationship with God

    • Ezekiel holds up a mirror to Israel so they can see their sin

    • He does not let them look away, minimize their sin or give excuses

    • Repent & return to God to receive mercy & forgiveness (Ezek. 18:30-32)

  • Hope during Suffering
    • Where is God? (Hebrews 13:5) Why is God in Babylon and not in Jerusalem? (Ezek. 11:16)
