Why was Peter's Reminder needed?

• Man is a forgetful creature.



• What comes before and after Peter's reminder? 
  
  • Be diligent in matters of growth and faith, 2 Peter 1:1-11.
  
  
  
  • A lengthy warning about false teachers, 2 Peter 2 & 3.
  
  
  
  
  

Do we need the same reminders?

• To faithfulness and spiritual growth: 
  
  • Galatians 5:16-26
  
  
  
  • Ephesians 4:25-32
  
  
  
  • 2 Peter 1:5-11
  
  
  
  
  



• Jesus' words still ring true:
  
  • Matthew 7:13-23
  
  
  
  • 2 Timothy 4:1-4
  
  
  
  
  

What other reminders do we need?

• We need to be reminded who created and who is in control of this world.



• We need to be reminded of how to have the abundant life and what is really important in life. 



• We need to be reminded of the purpose of life.... to glorify God. 



• We need to be reminded of our destiny.



• We need to take note of Peter's words in 2 Peter 1:12-15
