Here's the official synopsis of this film:

"Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) has to deal with the...fallout...of the previous film, as a group of terrorists called The Apostles has formed in the wake of The Syndicate, the villainous organization from the last film. The whole team (plus some newbies including the Man of Steel himself, Henry Cavill) are back to help out again...except for Jeremy Renner because he was too busy being HAWKEYE in some small indie film or something, you've probably never heard of it.."
