What if I told you there was actually a secret reason for the biblical flood, and that this flood account is detailed within many different mythologies however, depending on the point of view, the reasoning behind why God or the gods decided to do this was NOT what we have been told.

In the Book of Enoch, "the Holy and Great One" sends Uriel to Noah with a divine message. Noah is told to hide and is informed of an impending cataclysm. This passage is embedded within a religious and apocalyptic context. It underscores a divine warning to Noah, emphasizing his need to prepare for the forthcoming end of the world.

In contrast, the Atra-Hasis text features Enki, a deity in Sumerian mythology, advising his servant, Atra-Hasis. Here, the guidance is in response to the gods' decision to flood the Earth due to human overpopulation and noise. Atra-Hasis is instructed to flee, construct a boat, leave possessions behind, and save life. This narrative originates from ancient Mesopotamian mythology.

Similarities between the passages include divine figures (Uriel and Enki) providing guidance to human recipients (Noah and Atra-Hasis) facing a global catastrophe. Both sets of instructions involve taking action to save oneself from impending disaster, with the construction of a vessel being a key element.
Nonetheless, the contexts and backgrounds differ significantly. The Book of

Enoch is a part of Hebrew apocalyptic literature, and the message is rooted in religious prophecy. Conversely, the Atra-Hasis text is a mythological account from Sumerian/Akkadian culture, where the guidance is in response to divine judgment against humanity. These passages reflect the unique cultural and religious contexts from which they emerge.
