On this episode of The Lippert Built to Lead Podcast, Kim Lisiak, Director of Leadership Development, speaks with Ann Moran, Vice President of HR Aftermarket, and Jordan Musselman, Director of Human Resources, about performance reviews and the gift of feedback. They talk about the importance of giving the right kind of feedback so it creates a space that’s safe for all team members to communicate.

“Feedback is positive and constructive.” -Kim Lisiak [11:20]

“When anybody’s documenting, it’s not all the bad things that you do. It’s the celebratory of the wins, the celebratory of the great things that you do too. So I don’t want to think by keeping notes means that it’s always punitive.” -Jordan Musselman [25:25]

“The team member also needs to prepare to be courageous and also be able to deliver some of that feedback… It’s also ok to toot your own horn, which isn’t always the easiest thing. Sometimes we don’t have the space to do that, and at that time in that annual review or at those feedback discussions, that’s a great place to also bring that up.” -Ann Moran [38:08]
