A tough day all around for the city of Toronto yesterday and Ryan Andrews does their best to put a positive spin on the baseball aspect.
In the first half, Andrews praises a rare decent day for the offense, despite the lack of production with RISP. Andrews singles out Devon Travis and Yangervis Solarte with good nights at the plate. The Nova Scotian also praises Marcus Stroman's strong start against a top opponent, but wonders if precautions shouldn't be taken with the blister Stroman appeared to be dealing with.
In the second half, Andrews digs into the bullpen, as Ryan Tepera and Ken Giles earn deserved scrutiny. Andrews questions whether or not Tepera let his anger get the best of him, especially in the wake of some questionable calls. The host also wonders if Giles is not trusting his slider enough as an out pitch, as his fastballs won't work on guys who can hit 98 mph easily.
