It has been a difficult season for the New York Jets. A three game winning streak offered a brief respite, but that ended Sunday in resounding fashion. The Jets lost to the Cincinnati Bengals 22-6. The score was indicative of how easily the Bengals handled the Jets.
Cincinnati entered this game with an 0-11 record. The Jets already had a loss to an 0-7 Miami team last month. With this defeat, the Jets made the wrong kind of history. They became the first NFL team to ever lose to two opponents who were winless this deep into the season. On today's show we discuss what happened and what it means both in the small picture and in the big picture. I think this loss undoes a lot of the good we saw over the last three weeks. I also think it shows that the owner made a blunder in guaranteeing the job security of this head coach (although most of us knew that at the time).
