The offseason has officially begun. The Jets made their first major move on Tuesday as they parted ways with center Spencer Long.
Long lasted only one season in the green and white. The Jets signed him in hopes he could stabilize the middle of the offensive line. Unfortunately, he did anything but that. 
The Jets had to make a decision shortly after the Super Bowl since Long's contract stated that he would be guaranteed $3 million if still on the roster today. It wasn't a very difficult decision to make given his low quality of play last season.The Jets have a few more decisions to make about players under contract. Those decisions will be the focus of today's podcast. In truth, the Jets have less to decide than most teams in the league because they have so few players under contract, but they will have to make a call on a number of important roster pieces.
