Draft season is a time where teams focus on their needs. When we take stock of needs, we tend to focus only on positional needs. That certainly is an important part of the process. There are needs that go beyond positions, though. Sometimes these get lost in the mix.
Some needs are based on roles. A team might need a player who fills a role, and that role could be filled by players at multiple positions. Back in 2015 the Jets had a comedic lack of production from their tight end position, but Brandon Marshall, Eric Decker, and Quincy Enunwa gave the Jets a large amount of the productivity a team usually gets from its tight end.On today's podcast we take a look at some of the roles the Jets need to fill. There is a possibility some could be filled internally by players improving. Others might need to be filled externally.
