LeBron is the King of NBA 2K22 and Jeanie Buss Hates the NBA's Play-in Tournament! - a podcast by Locked On Podcast Network, Anthony Irwin

Few topics generate more controversy among NBA players than their 2K rating, so it's no shock that Wednesday's release of the new NBA 2K22 numbers had a bunch of ballers up in arms. Even as high a rating as 96 (out of 100) feels like a slight if you're LeBron James. On the plus side, it also made him the #1 ranked player, just edging out fellow 96-ers Kevin Durant, Giannis Antetokoumnpo and Steph Curry! Oh, the grudges that will be launched (and relaunched)! In the meantime, feels like a weird thing to say, but LeBron remaining the best in a video game heading into year 19 is a pretty amazing achievement, even if he'd take issue with the metrics creating the score.

Speaking of formats, Lakers owner Jeanie Buss revealed in an interview with The Athletic that she's not a fan of the play-in tournament, both because she doesn't think it's fair to seven and eight seeds who could lose a postseason berth, but also because she doesn't think it's an effective (or at least appropriate tanking deterrent). What's most interesting about her opinion isn't so much whether it's right or wrong, but how much it reveals the worldview of an owner of an organization like the Lakers. And finally, a mailbag question from @thenathanmark. (In addition to twitter - @kambrothers - listeners can ask questions by emailing kamenetzkybrothers@gmail.com or on the iTunes showpage.) Assuming the Lakers finish the season as the number one seed, will they finally get some awards season love, particularly for Rob Pelinka and Frank Vogel? The Kamenetzkys strongly disagree on their chances.

Hosts: Andy and Brian KamenetzkySEGMENT 1: Is 96 out of 100 a good score? Yes... unless you're LeBron or another All-NBA caliber player and it's a 2K score, in which case it's an insult.

SEGMENT 2: Jeanie hates the play-in tournament. Does she have a point?SEGMENT 3: Could this finally be the year Vogel, Pelinka or even LeBron get some award recognition as Lakers?
