Never let it be said that the Kamenetzky Brothers aren't agent of change. During Friday's show, they discussed how Frank Vogel still didn't have a contract extension, and the potential issues that could arise this coming season if he were allowed to coach as a lame duck. Hours later, the team announced that Vogel had a longer deal. The terms haven't made reported yet, but given the complicated nature of getting several new faces (most notably Russell Westbrook) on the same page in the winnest of win-now seasons, it's crucial to feel support from the highest places.
In the meantime, Zoom pressers were held introducing (or in a few cases, reintroducing) Trevor Ariza, Wayne Ellington, Talen Horton-Tucker, Dwight Howard, and Kendrick Dunn. Some interesting thoughts were shared from the veterans and the youngsters.And finally, Kyle Kuzma conducted a Twitter Q&A, and reinforced his longstanding belief that his role with the Lakers prevented the fullest display of his skills. The Kamenetzkys discuss how Kuzma handled the last two seasons as a role player who bought in, but wanted more, and was concerned the situation could adversely affect his market value as an impending free agent. (It was a comparable situation to Dennis Schröder's during his one controversial season in L.A.)
