Raised in Las Vegas, she completed her undergraduate work at UCLA. She was later active in the Southern California punk rock scene, performing in local bands.  Tamara loved the intellectual challenge of law at Michigan and gained her trial chops at the Riverside County Public Defender's Office.  She now handles felony and misdemeanor matters in Alameda and Contra Costa counties.
