I imagine there have been a few times in your life when you’ve gotten defensive…

When you’ve felt the need to prove yourself or justify your actions and then said or did something that wasn’t as mature as it could have been? 😉We’ve all been there!

Most people don’t enjoy conflict. Some of us even avoid it at all cost.

The thing is, when you have the skills to navigate conflict, it doesn’t have to be so awful. It can be a crucible for growth and deepening relationships!

Today’s Man Alive Podcast is with my colleague Jason Digges. Jason is an artist, philosopher, teacher and video producer. His new book Conflict = Energy gives you the theory of Authentic Relating as well as many practical exercises and tools to use in your relationships right away.

In this conversation we discussed:

* How to use conflict as a doorway to more love, intimacy and collaboration* What you can skillfully do when others point their resentment, disappointment or upset at you* Practical tools to stay connected when you or your partner has a rush of emotions * How judgment could be breaking the foundations of trust and passion in your relationship* What vulnerability actually is and how it can be exciting and powerful for men

Jason and I demo’d one of the practices so you can see the power of asking questions and reflecting what you hear!  He also shared simple practices from his book that you can start using. With last week’s podcast with Michael Porcelli, and this week’s podcast, you have the fundamentals of creating healthy, connected relationships! After listening I highly recommend getting Jason’s book.
