Art pieces are the foundation of wondrous historical sources, becoming useful as a political document and shining a light on new perspectives. Throughout the centuries, art has been influenced by historical events, movements and individuals. We will focus on the relationship using 3 case studies; art in Counter-Reformation Spain, Irish art in the Free State and female Old Masters.
