Kennesaw State Awarded Grant from the Governor's Office of Highway Safety for 17th Straight Year

Kennesaw State University's Health Promotion and Wellness department has secured a $27,000 grant for the 17th consecutive year from the Governor's Office of Highway Safety (GOHS) in Georgia. The grant supports the Georgia Young Adult Program, focusing on reducing young adult crashes, injuries, and fatalities. The funds will facilitate peer education, participation in conferences, and the creation of campaigns promoting safe driving behaviors among students. Events coordinated by KSU include National Collegiate Alcohol Awareness Week and Safe Spring Break. The grant, funded by federal dollars from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, spans from October 1, 2023, to September 30, 2024.
