Summary: In some protestant Christian traditions, salvation is understood as God "covering up" our dirtiness with the righteousness of Christ -- so that when God see us, he only sees Christ. The Catholic understanding of salvation is different: It is not a cover-up job, it is an inside job which transforms our whole being. The emphasis on the healing of our sin.
