Summary: Contrary to some misunderstanding about the Catholic view of Salvation. We do not "earn" our salvation. Rather, The Catholic Church teaches that it is by grace we are saved and are made children of God. But that grace is then consummated, or "worked out" through our participation in the life of Christ and the mission he calls us to. A good marriage doesn't end with just the ceremony -- it is worked out through a lifelong union.
