Summary: One of the difficult lessons for us as humans to learn is that we can certainly pray for physical healings, but to keep in mind that spiritual healings are primary. Spiritual healings and growth in Faith are much more necessary. The Gospels relate how Jesus went around healing many people, but the Catechism points out to us that “He did not heal all the sick.”6 Rather,
Jesus’ physical healings were meant to increase Faith—they were a sign “of the coming Kingdom of God.” They were a sign of a much more radical, much more important healing: that is, the healing God offers us through Jesus Christ’s victory over sin and death.
