Much of Isaiah's book is a rebuke of Israel's unfaithfulness and sin. But here, God declares that the people of Israel, blind and deaf in so many ways-- are his witnesses. They were chosen in order that they might know the true God, be saved form their sins by faith in him, and live powerfully--according to their knowledge of the LORD.
