“Relative Hormone Deficiencies in Obesity”

The Anne Klibanski Visiting Lecture Series was created to support and advance the careers of women. These lectures bring together faculty from institutions that have hosted Anne Klibanski Scholars with MGH scholars, on topics that overlap both research areas.

Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the physiology and cardiometabolic effects of the natriuretic peptide hormone system.
  • Recognize that obese individuals may experience a relative natriuretic peptide deficiency and appreciate the possible clinical implications of this.
  • Appreciate that obesity is a state of relative growth hormone deficiency.
  • Understand the impact of growth hormone on NAFLD-related endpoints in obesity.
