One of the greatest challenges any of us can ever face in life is an event affecting our health and well-being. To put it mildly, such an event is by its very nature ... life-changing. It's a Job moment.

It can mess with your faith.

Today you'll get a chance to meet a man, Jerry Cassity, whose life was changed in an instant by a stroke. I think you'll be inspired as you hear directly from someone who's faced some very difficult times, and never given up. I'm inspired when I talk with him and learn more and more about how he had to find ways after the stroke to adjust to the "new reality" of his "new circumstances" in life.

You'll hear how Jerry came to realize that God hadn't forgotten or forsaken him, but instead was always there, calling out to him, and finally reminding him that the glass was never half empty no matter the circumstances, but always full.

This whole life-altering event had the effect of leading Jerry back to the beginnings of Christianity, with a renewed energy to find out where things had gone wrong, and into relationships with new people with whom he now shares the blessings of Christ. How can a stroke be turned into a positive? How can going back to our original faith change us for the better? That's really at the core of Jerry's story.

Along the way in Jerry's journey, I had the pleasure of meeting him when he joined my Essential Spiritual Fitness Program. Today it's my pleasure to introduce him to all of you. I consider him a true friend in Christ, and I'm really excited to have him on the show to share his testimony. A truly humble man, I hope you'll be as blessed by coming to know him and a little bit about his journey through this great challenge in life, as I continue to be in our ongoing relationship.
