Today, Mid Mod Remodel Podcast has … a GUEST! I am so excited to share my chat with George Smart, AKA Mr. Modernism of US Modernist Radio.

He is the founder and executive director of the UsModernist organization – which, among other things, is the  largest open digital archive of midcentury Modernist houses in the the world – THIS IS A RESOURCE CHECK IT OUT.  George is an archivist of and advocate for modern architecture both in the past an the present.  He’s an inveterate networker who connects people who love MCM design with each other all over the country and the world.  You may already know him as the host of THE modern architecture podcast US Modernist Radio.

We sat down in our respective offices this week to chat about why modern architecture and houses are so great, and how to dig more deeply into the modern history of your home town.  

To set the scene, I should tell you that his Zoom background is the pool of Frank Sinatra’s house!
