Late winter and early spring are prime time for ag building fires. This is because feedstuffs are very dry, heaters are running, dust is building up and rodents are sheltering in your buildings. This is according to Megan Schossow of the Upper Midwest Agricultural Safety and Health Center. She shares simple steps to prevent a fire. 1) clean up that dust and debris 2) make sure your chemicals, fertilizers, oils and other flammable liquids are put away in a safe place 3) check extension cords; check wiring to make sure it's up to code 4) make sure your heat source is up-to-date and running safely.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
